Tech For Refugees Announces New Grant for Flexport.Org Humanitarian Aid Relief Programs
New funding to bring assistance to millions of refugees and internally displaced persons in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa
May 7, 2024 – San Francisco – Tech for Refugees today announced a new grant for humanitarian efforts led by its partner, Flexport.org. Tech for Refugees is the global initiative launched by Julia and Yuri Milner in cooperation with major technology partners, and funded by the Breakthrough Prize Foundation. The non-profit funds technology organizations to use their services and expertise to provide assistance to refugees around the world. Flexport.org’s technology-enabled logistics network and relationships with aid organizations facilitates the efficient delivery of food, medical supplies, clothing, and other essential commodities internationally.
The grant will go towards humanitarian aid for refugees and internally displaced persons in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.
Tech for Refugees and Flexport.org began their partnership in April 2022. Since then, grants from the initiative have funded 448 total shipments that have positively impacted more than 7 million people across 20 countries.
